African-Canadian Services:

develops, promotes and delivers programs, resources and services for African Nova Scotian students, at all levels of education

advises and guides other divisions of the Branch, and the Department of Education, regarding African Canadian Education

promotes understanding of African Canadians and their history, heritage, culture, traditions, and contributions to society recognizing their origin as Africans

ensures African Canadian students have greater access to post secondary institutions

works with staff in the Branch and across the department to address systemic racism and discrimination, by facilitating implementation of the Racial Equity Policy
