Programs and resources

  • Child Care Directory
    The Government of Nova Scotia licenses child care facilities throughout the province. This directory lets you search for facilities by name and/or location, and shows whether a facility currently meets its licensing requirements.

    Choosing child care for your family is an important decision. It requires time, planning, and information. This step-by-step guide to choosing child care has been developed by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development to guide you in your search for the child care arrangement that best suits your needs.
  • Child Care Subsidy
    This program assists eligible families with their child-care expenses in licensed child-care centres and family home child-care, as well as, approved before and after programs.
  • Family Home Day Care Program
    Family Home Day Care Programs provide care options for children 0 – school age in a home monitored by a regulated Family Home Day Care Agency
  • Inclusion Support
    The goal of this program is to assist in the creation or enhancement of existing inclusive child care programs for young children.
  • Early Childhood Development Intervention Services

    The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development supports Nova Scotia Early Childhood Intervention Services (NSECDIS) to deliver family centered early intervention services to families with children diagnosed with or at risk for developmental delay from birth to school entry.
