English Program Services:

  • designs, develops, pilots, implements and evaluates all programs and courses for public schools, grades primary-12, except for French first language and French second language programs, as well as a range of student and teaching resources to support program implementation


  • co-ordinates related professional development initiatives to support the Public School Program


  • provides a wide range of consultative and advisory services to school boards, and to other education partners, professional associations, groups, the media, and the public


  • manages an evaluation system for resources to be included in Authorized Learning Resources


  • represents Nova Scotia in the design and development of Atlantic Canada curriculum


  • co-ordinates early learning programs and related projects


  • identifies priorities and co-ordinates the development, delivery and evaluation of youth engagement and development initiatives
