Evaluation Services:

administers the Program of Learning Assessment for Nova Scotia (PLANS), which includes provincial, national and international assessments, in French and in English, and provides individual student reports to teachers for instructional planning purposes

develops and administers program assessments to determine the effectiveness of curriculum delivery

develops and administers student assessments to assist students to achieve outcomes, and provides student achievement information for education decision-making purposes

provides student achievement information to government for education decision-making

promotes understanding of assessment principles and practices

supports school accreditation through collecting, analysing and reporting results of school performance surveys, to facilitate the creation of school performance goals

publishes accountability reports for all assessments and examinations, for both teachers and the general public
