Increasing the Effectiveness of School Board Governance in Nova Scotia

These are challenging times for public education. In an effort to support school boards in fulfilling their responsibilities, the Department of Education is proposing changes to its legislation to increase the effectiveness of school board governance.

Effective school board governance is about supporting our elected school boards in fulfilling their responsibility for the control and management of public schools within each school board region. It is about making sure that resources are well-managed, relationships are respectful, and the best interests of our students are considered in all decisions.

The public response to the "Increasing the Effectiveness of School Board Governance in Nova Scotia" white paper is now complete. We would like to thank all individuals and organizations who provided comments.
