Learning Resources & Technology Services:

  • provides leadership and direction to school boards regarding the effective use of information and communications technology and non-print media in support of learning


  • co-ordinates the evaluation of video and multimedia learning resources for Authorized Learning Resources


  • provides video, computer and multimedia resources to public schools


  • co-ordinates the Correspondence Study Program and online learning, with school boards


  • prepares specifications for and manages the ICT requirements for school construction and renovation projects


  • assists other consultants in the Public Schools Branch to integrate information and communications technology and online learning within the curriculum


  • leads provincial, regional, and pan-Canadian technology-related initiatives including the Information Economy Initiative (IEI), SchoolNet’s Computers for Schools and, with school boards, provides online and face-to-face professional learning for educators


  • oversees the Computers for Schools Nova Scotia (Technology Recycling Program)
