Reshaping our Education System to Match Student Needs and Numbers

The education of children is a priority for families and our government. And changes are taking place in our classrooms that must be addressed.

We are losing about 3,000 students a year -- 30,000 over the past 10 years -- while spending to boards has increased by 42 per cent.

This trend will continue, meaning we will soon have a school system that is just about half the size of what it was a generation ago.

We have a responsibility to our young people to reshape our education system in a way that matches student numbers and needs, to improve the quality of education.

Government has engaged education expert Dr. Ben Levin to provide advice on how to improve the quality of education for students, while addressing the demographic and financial challenges that exist across the country.
