Thank you for your interest in Nova Scotia Summer School 2020! 

Summer School will be offered virtually for students in grades 10 to 12 for the purpose of credit recovery, upgrading or new learning opportunities (taking new courses). Students and teachers will participate virtually.
 

Credit Recovery

Did you get a final mark between 35% and 49% in a language arts or mathematics course?

Do you want to try to get that credit before school starts in September?


The 4-week credit recovery option might be what you’re looking for!
 


Eligibility

  • You have taken the course but not received credit
  • You have achieved a minimum of 35%
     

Registration Fee: $20.00

Upgrading

Did you get a language arts or mathematics credit, but with a final mark lower than you’d like?


The 4-week upgrading option might help you.

  • You have taken the course and received credit (mark 50% or more)

New Learning Opportunities

Eligibility

  • You have not taken the course.

Note: if you do not attend a NS public school, please check with your school to ensure this course will be accepted.
 

Registration Fee

  • Full Credit - $200.00
  • Half Credit - $100.00

Delivery Platform

  • Courses will all be virtual/online. Teachers will be available for ‘office hours’ as well as regular instruction at various times/days. Students will also complete work independently in some cases. Courses may be delivered through the Moodle learning management system or Google Classroom with face to face meetings in VIA or Google Meet. 

  • All options are pending availability of teachers and sufficient student registration. You will be contacted via the GNSPES/SEPNE email address that you provide on your registration form, on or before July 3, 2020 to confirm course availability and how to pay your fees. 

  • Fees will be subsidized or waived for credit recovery or upgrading for public school students and families who indicate an inability to pay.
