Technology Advantage Program Pilot

This pilot program supports students in developing the competencies and skills needed to succeed in school and to pursue a career in the technology sector. It may take up to six years to complete.
With career exploration at its core, this pilot program combines classroom learning with experiential learning that includes mentorship opportunities, internships and co-operative education placements.
Students who complete the pilot program will be prepared for career opportunities in the technology sector, or to pursue more post-secondary education.
Students who are currently enrolled in 2019-2020 in the Technology Advantage Program in Grade 9 are eligible to continue in 2020-2021 with the pilot program in Grade 10 at the following high schools:
- Cole Harbour District High School
- JL Ilsley High School
- Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School
Students will earn a high school diploma and earn a two-year technology diploma from the Nova Scotia Community College at no cost to the students or families when they finish the program.
Students who complete the pilot program will be prepared for career opportunities in the technology sector such as web design, data analytics, IT programming, oceans and aerospace technology and more. Students may also choose to pursue more post-secondary education.
