The Enrollment Process

Students can register at any time.

CSP doesn’t follow the same school year as public schools so you can start when you’re ready.

  • There is no limit to the number of courses you can take at the same time, however we recommend you initially enroll in one or two courses to develop a sense of the skills required to successfully study via correspondence.  

Steps to Enrol

Online Payment and Enrollment

  1. Click on View Correspondence Study Courses on the CSP home page
  2. Determine the course(s) you wish to enroll in and any texts you wish to purchase directly from CSP
  3. Click on one course of your choice and do one of the following: 
    • Click on the orange Online Payment & Registration button. Create an account or, if you already have an account, log into the online payment platform and complete the payment process - you will receive a receipt of payment. Follow the continue button to the enrollment form, complete and email to csp@novascotia.ca
      OR
    • Click on the blue Enrollment Form button. Complete the School/Home School Approval form (only for students using CSP courses for graduation requirements). Upon receipt of all three (payment, enrollment, and approval (where applicable)) course materials will be emailed to the student.

Mail In/In person Enrollment

  1. Click on View Correspondence Study Courses on the CSP home page
  2. Determine the course (s) you wish to enroll and any texts you wish to purchase directly from CSP
  3. Click on the blue Enrollment Form button on the course page
  4. Download, print, and complete the form
  5. Complete the School/Homeschool Approval form (only for students using CSP courses for graduation requirements)
  6. Payments can be made using our point of sale machine or by cheque/money order to Chief Finance Officer
    1. WALK IN - make an appointment (902-424-4054) with CSP to submit the enrollment form, school approval form ,and make a payment using our point of sale machine or by cheque/money order at 2021 Brunswick Street, Halifax, NS
    2. MAIL IN - mail in the original enrollment form, school approval form ( where applicable), and cheque/money order to : Correspondence Study Program Office, EECD, PO Box 578, Halifax NS B3J 2S9
  7. Upon receipt of all three, payment, enrollment, and approval (where applicable) course materials will be emailed to the student.

 Course Materials 

  • Course fees do not include the cost of textbooks.
  • Students may purchase available textbooks through the online payment site but they can also be found at public libraries, schools and retail stores. A link to the online payment site can be found under each course

Processing Time

  • The time required for us to process your enrollment will vary depending on the number of enrollments we have received.
  • Enrollments are typically completed in two days however it may take up to 2 weeks during high-volume periods. If you have requested a printed copy, you will NOT receive a welcome email. 

After Enrollment is Complete

Upon receipt of payment, enrollment form, and approval (if applicable*) you will be sent a welcome email with all the information you will need, including a link to the PDF course guide or log in information for courses on our Moodle.

  • For courses using a PDF guide, you may request a hard copy.
  • If you request a hard copy you will receive all materials by postal mail not email. 

Beginning your Course

You may begin your course immediately following receipt of the guide/log in information.

We recommend that you contact your marker early to begin building a working relationship with them. 

Refunds

Upon enrollment in a CSP course no refunds for courses will be issued.

Students who have not yet started the course will have 90 days to reassign their funds to an alternate course of choice: paying any cost difference. Texts purchased from CSP that are not currently available will be refunded accordingly. 

 

*NOTE: If you are under the age of 16 or are currently attending school, you must have approval from your school administration/ regional education officer or home schooling, before you can enrol in a correspondence course. This may be done by email or by completing an Approval form.
