MyCreds

As of May 2023, students of Nova Scotia International Programs (IP) schools will have 24/7 access to their In-Progress Transcripts, Official Transcripts, and Diplomas in their own virtual credential wallet.

What is MyCreds?

MyCreds™ is a national, shared service and platform that provides students and graduates access to a secure, online, password protected learner credential wallet. This virtual wallet allows students to view and share their verified and official transcripts, credentials, and academic documents in a digitized format on a 24/7 basis – anytime, anywhere.

Secure, cryptographically signed documents can be sent conveniently and require no further verification. Documents are issued via the platform and stored securely in MyCreds™ | MesCertif™.

Your data remains under the control of the International Programs division, and this information can only be accessed by you, IP, and with whomever you choose to share your documents.

Registering your MyCreds account (current grade 12 students)

Once we issue you an academic document (e.g. an official transcript) you will receive an email to your NSPES or GNSPES email address. The school principal will have records of these email addresses.

  • Follow the instructions in the email to register your account with MyCreds.
  • Once you have registered your account, you will receive a second email from MyCreds with a link to activate your account.
  • When your account is activated, you will be able to view and share your academic documents.
  • IMPORTANT: Your NSPES/GNSPES email will be deactivated 1 year after you graduate from the Nova Scotia program, therefore it is very important that you link a second email to your MyCreds account.
  • Former students will also be required to register for MyCreds to access their transcripts (see below).

Fees

Each current grade 12 student/graduate is provided with five (5) free share credits to share their in-progress and official Nova Scotia High School transcripts. Once you have used your allotted free shares, you will be prompted to purchase share credits at $60 CAD each.

Information for post-secondary institutions and other receiving organizations

Is a digital transcript issued through MyCreds an official Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) document?

The digital signatures on documents issued by EECD via MyCreds meet the legal criteria for certified digital documents in countries around the world. By sharing their documents through the MyCreds portal, students and graduates can verify their authenticity as official documents from EECD, thanks to these digital signatures.

How do I ensure the authenticity of an EECD document shared through MyCreds?

Documents are official only when bearing the Blue Ribbon Symbol and a valid digital certification issued by GlobalSign CA for Adobe. To be deemed trustworthy and official, recipients must receive the document via email from MyCreds, with the URL beginning with https://learner.mycreds.ca. Transcripts sent from a personal email account will not be considered official.

When viewing the document on the MyCreds portal, several indicators will confirm its authenticity:

  • A cover page will provide details about the document’s features.
  • The document status says Available.
  • The Certified blue-ribbon symbol will be present.
  • You can view the certificate information.

Why do I see a document verification failure message?

A document verification failure message will appear after accessing the link if:

  • A document has been revoked by EECD.
  • The share has expired (students/graduates are able to set expiry dates and make extensions).
  • The share has been disabled by the student/graduate.

A PIN is required to view the document, where do I find it?

When sharing a document, students can create a PIN and are responsible for ensuring the recipient receives it. If you’ve received a document, please contact the sender directly.

Where do I find more information about verifying documents issued through MyCreds?
