About the Digital / Virtual Learning Division (DVL)
- Though our ICT Consultation services we provide support to the use of technology for student learning and professional development.
- The division coordinates the evaluation and acquisition of curriculum software and hardware, and produces and distributes digital learning resources for teachers and students in public schools.
- We also have an Innovation Center where teachers and department staff can create and explore in a supportive, collaborative environment with current tools and resources that can enhance teaching and learning.
Homework Hub provides 24/7 access to video tutorials, practice questions, and vocabulary review for mathematics students in grades 4 to 12. As well, bilingual, one-on-one, anonymous tutoring is available on most school nights at no charge for students in grades 4 to 12.
The Digital Media Production Unit creates teacher professional learning videos and other materials for use within the Department and within schools.
Our eLearning Design & Support and Distributed Learning groups design, support and deliver our online learning options including Nova Scotia Virtual School (NSVS).
