NSELCF Module 8: Authentic Assessment through Pedagogical Documentation – May 23, 2026: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM (Virtual)

This module explores how pedagogical documentation supports authentic assessment in early learning environments. Participants will explore how documenting children’s learning can make thinking visible, inform planning, and support collaboration with families and colleagues. Gender Inclusive Early Learning Environments- Part 1: May 26, 2026: 6:30–8:30 PM & Part 2: May 28, 2026: 6:30-8:30 PM (Virtual)

This session explores gender inclusivity in early learning and child care settings. Participants will examine how gender bias and stereotypes shape children’s experiences and learn practical strategies to create inclusive, affirming environments grounded in the Nova Scotia Early Learning Curriculum Framework (NSELCF). NSECLF Module 1: Image of the Child - Part 1: June 1, 2026: 6:30-8:30 PM & Part 2: June 3, 2026: 6:30–8:30 PM (Virtual)

This module invites participants to reflect on their image of the child and how it influences their practice. Using the NSELCF, educators will explore how beliefs shape relationships, environments, and curriculum decisions. Complete the registration form by May 25 to register.

NSELCF Module 4: Connecting Learning Goals, Learning Objectives, and Strategies - Part 1: June 2, 2026: 6:30-8:30 PM & Part 2: June 4, 2026: 6:30–8:30 PM (Virtual)

Building on Module 3: Connecting Early Learning Principles and Practices, this module supports participants in becoming more familiar with the learning goals of well-being, discovery and invention, language and communication, and personal and social responsibility. Through guided discussions and hands-on activities, participants will work with real examples from the Educator’s Guide. Complete the registration form by May 26 to register.

Learn Through Active Play - June 6, 2026: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (In-person)
Two Sessions will be held on this date: Northern Region, location TBC and Central Region, location TBC

This in-person session explores how to embed active play into everyday practice. Participants will engage with research-based strategies that support children’s development, relationships, and physical literacy. Complete the registration form by May 30 to register for the Northern Region location TBC and complete the registration form by May 30 to register for the Central/HRM location TBC.

Positive Behaviour Guidance – Two sessions being offered. June 10, 2026: 6 :30-9:30 PM (Virtual) OR June 13, 2026: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Virtual)

This session focuses on increasing understanding and implementation of positive child guidance fundamentals for educators. There are two sessions being offered. This is not a series and participants only need to register for one session. Choose one of the following: Complete the registration form by June 3 to register for June 10 session and complete the registration form by June 6 for the June 13 session.

Learning with Mi’kma’ki - June 20, 2026: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM (Central Region - Second Lake, Sackville, NS) (In-person)

This professional learning experience invites educators to deepen their connection to place through Mi’kmaw teachings. Grounded in Etuaptmumk (Two-Eyed Seeing), participants explore land-based learning and how Indigenous knowledge and Western knowledge systems can work together in early learning and child care. Complete the registration form by June 12 to register.

NSELCF Module 3: Connecting Early Learning Principles and Practices- Part 1: June 22, 2026: 6:30-8:30 PM & Part 2: June 24, 2026: 6:30–8:30 PM (Virtual)

Participants will explore the NSELCF principles and educator practices and how they connect to daily programming. This session builds familiarity with the framework and its practical application. Complete the registration form by June 15 to register.

NSECLF Module 2: Pedagogical Leadership - Part 1: June 23, 2026: 6:30-9:00 PM & Part 2: June 25, 2026: 6:30–9:00 PM (Virtual)

This module explores how pedagogical leadership shapes practice, relationships, and learning environments. Participants will examine leadership through reflection, values, and inquiry-based approaches. Complete the registration form by June 16 to register.
